We are looking for an educator who is nurturing, patient, engaging, and enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships. The ideal candidate has experience with or an interest in the Reggio Emilia philosophy and enjoys spending time outdoors with children in all seasons.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and supervision for children in a licensed childcare setting.
• Support children’s learning and development through play-based experiences.
• Foster a warm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with educators to maintain daily routines and program expectations.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
• Ensure health, safety, and licensing requirements are consistently met.
• Participate in outdoor learning experiences and encourage children’s exploration of the natural environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) or Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) Certificate recognized in British Columbia.
• Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Knowledge of or experience with the Reggio Emilia approach is considered an asset.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to different classrooms and age groups.
• Genuine passion for working with young children.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children between the ages of 5 and 10 years old and be passionate about creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children.

Responsibilities:

• Supervising and engaging children in daily activities
• Implementing program plans and recreational activities
• Communicating professionally with parents and guardians
• Working collaboratively with other team members
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in care
• Setting up and cleaning up activities and classroom spaces
• Leading and managing a group of 6–10 children independently
• Encouraging outdoor play and participation in activities

Qualifications:

• Experience working with school-aged children
• Positive attitude and high energy level
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Must enjoy spending time outdoors and participating in active play
• Reliable, responsible, and committed to maintaining a safe environment

Hours would be 1:45pm-5:30pm with the potential to also work mornings 7am-9am
